It captures and analyzes plant root images through scanning, enabling measurement of parameters such as total root count, number of root tips, total root length, average root diameter, total root volume, branching points, and more. III. Features
Root Analysis Functions:
1. Topology Analysis: The system automatically performs root topology analysis, determining parameters such as root connectivity, length, and volume. It automatically distinguishes lateral root levels and analyzes parameters of the main root or any lateral root. The root hierarchy is divided into 8 levels for more accurate analysis.
2. Nodule Analysis: Automatically identifies and analyzes the proportion of nodule volume in the root system, objectively determining nodule count, nodule surface area, nodule surface area contribution, nodule volume, and nodule volume contribution. Users can manually add unrecognized nodules or delete incorrectly identified ones for improved data accuracy.
3. Connectivity Analysis: Accurately analyzes angular relationships between root segments within the root system.
4. Segmented Measurement: Segments and categorizes roots based on diameter, projected area, surface area, volume, and length. Supports custom categorization settings, automatically measures length, projected area, surface area, volume, and distribution parameters for each diameter segment, and outputs data histograms for visualization.
5. Smart Calibration for Precision: Allows merging of branches, deleting connections, merging root tips, disconnecting segments, burr removal, main root correction, lateral root correction, and root thickness adjustment for enhanced operability.
6. Automatic Noise Removal: Eliminates noise by setting pixel values to highlight target root contours.
7. Automatic Calibration: Converts pixel measurements to actual lengths after user input of scanning resolution.
8. Personalized Display for Easier Observation: Supports parameter selection for image analysis, displaying root endpoints, nodes, connecting segments, nodules, main roots, levels 1–6 lateral roots, and lower-level lateral roots in different colors for intuitive differentiation.
9. Image Binarization: Adjusts grayscale contrast to better segment roots and modify the background, improving analysis accuracy.
10. Restore to Original Image: Reverts analyzed or modified images back to their original state upon opening.
11. Target Area Analysis: Manually select specific regions for analysis, increasing flexibility and data accuracy.
